Though not all are from US, I have to imagine the majority are. Yet there's no way WSB accounted for such a large percentage of Reddit usage, right?

Not true. I created a Memestocks Megathread for AMC (and NOK and BB) back in January that got roasted to hell for "being a GME distraction". GME gang effectively silenced discussion on everything.
