nami's breakdown->asking luffy for help->walk to arlong park is one of the best sequences in any media ever

47

u/Raderg32 Feb 22 '21

Everytime someone tells me they started one piece but they think about dropping it I ask them to watch until that moment. They never mentioned dropping the series again.

27

u/time_is_money_mate Feb 22 '21

I had one friend who dropped after that moment. Had.

7

u/Enlighten_YourMind Feb 22 '21

This is the way, if your friend doesn’t like the Arlong arc, they will not enjoy One piece, simple as that. Also, they have shit taste, and you might need a new friend 😂

7

u/Spq113355 Feb 22 '21

I’m trying to convince a friend to watch it until that point and if he didn’t like it until then he wouldn’t like everything else

I came here to say this. Absolutely amazing. I'd say the second half of Arlong Park from Nami's flashback to "You are my Nakama" is the best One Piece has ever been.

u/unknown_variable69 Feb 22 '21

Luffy punching a celestial dragon

90

u/nihi1ist Feb 22 '21

The black and white animation it had in the anime was phenomenal

64

u/GuestBadge Feb 22 '21

He punched him back into the manga.

Luffy’s fight with Fujitora and calling out his moves.

36

u/Strawhat_Carrot Pirate Feb 22 '21

Wholesome as hell

90

u/Strawhat_Carrot Pirate Feb 22 '21

This is one of my favorites, but also: Nami asking Luffy for help, Jinbe telling Big Mom he won't be intimidated by a mere yonkou, Sanji saving Germa, Luffy reuniting with Sabo, and nothing happened.

If I had to pick from these, it's a tough choice between that Jinbe/Big Mom scene, and nothing happened.

19

u/N3ME15 Explorer Feb 22 '21

The nothing happened was the cool line that we wanted and received. Why I prefer big mom is just a mere emperor is how we didn't know he wasn't just gonna say "sorry but I'm joining the future pirate king" but the same phrase except the roast is even harder by downplaying her position

12

u/Strawhat_Carrot Pirate Feb 22 '21

No question, Jinbe never disappoints.

2

u/garden_veggie_chips Feb 23 '21

What do you mean by “nothing happened” I don’t know what part you’re referencing

5

u/Strawhat_Carrot Pirate Feb 23 '21

I wish I could expand on it, but since nothing happened, I can't.

2

u/garden_veggie_chips Feb 23 '21

Lol! I really want to play along, but if I’m correct are you talking about what happened with zoro at thriller bark??

u/BeProLAB The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '21

This is going to be an extremely unpopular opinion, but the Luffy and Zoro reunion is my favorite.

I also love the end of 1000 and beginning of 1001, "I want to live" and "Nothing happened", and Luffy's speech to Sanji in WCI.

6

u/CluelessAtol Feb 22 '21

I don’t think it’s unfair at all to say that. Luffy and Zoro have a shit ton of great scenes together.

5

u/Weewer Feb 22 '21

TELL ME HOW YOU REALLY FEEL, SANJI

120

u/ravenomen88 Feb 22 '21

For me it's gotta be "sogeking shoot that flag" and he just does it with 0 hesitation. It's a cool moment for the story but an even better moment for Usopp

7

u/PBow1669 Pirate Feb 22 '21

Song slaps man

18

u/Swifty6 Feb 22 '21

For Usopp?

10

u/MrTT3 Feb 22 '21

the overthinking coward of the group commit the most heinous crime for his friend

14

u/Swifty6 Feb 22 '21

Pretty sure it was Sogeking who shot the flag, and he was by far the most courageous member of the group, I wish he could have stayed with them.

3

u/thejuror8 Feb 22 '21

Sogeking4Nakama !!!

4

u/Oreo-and-Fly Feb 22 '21

Seriously though. The lack of hesitation in that, just perfect.

Sure sure haha it's not Usopp it sogeking but let's really appreciate Usopp's bravery in this.

7

u/_-Dalexer_ Feb 22 '21

Huh? I’m pretty sure Usopp and Sogeking are different people

9

u/Satans_Jewels Feb 22 '21

Have you heard the theory, tho, that many of Sogeking's shots were actually made by Ussop from miles away? And that's why he's more or less useless once the fight goes inside, but suddenly amazing again when he gets on the roof.

2

u/_-Dalexer_ Feb 22 '21

Huh, I never thought about that. Thx for the eye opener

favourite moments (sad, epic and happy combined)

-“luffy, help me” and walk to arlong park

-sanji backstory with zeff

-“i want to live” and walk to enies lobby

-walk to Franky House and the boys absolutely demolishing :P

-the entirety of the crew meeting Brook

-the crew getting new bounties after water7 and enies lobby. specifically sanji and chopper’s reaction Lol

-luffy meets sabo again

-rosinante death

-“without you, I can’t become the pirate king”

-gear fourth bounce man debut

-strawhat grand fleet is formed

-fujitora wanting to see luffy

-also luffy and usopp argument, how could i forget.

These are all off the top of my head lol. I’m on episode 842 rn

11

u/PBow1669 Pirate Feb 22 '21

Bruh you missed saying goodbye to the Going Merry. But also kinda wanna watch from the start again.

5

u/RishieDmishra Feb 22 '21

How can you miss “nothing happened “

3

u/jazmlab Feb 22 '21

oh man these were all on the fly. zoro is my favourite character so idk how that slipped my mind but it’s definitely a top moment

120

u/Paper_Okami The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '21

The one you posted. It is the best and it isn't even really close imo.

There are so many amazing One piece moments and yet Robin's desperate cry is greater than anything before or since.

58

u/Strawhat_Carrot Pirate Feb 22 '21

Plus with the context of the whole scene, we'll fight the world itself to help you. Just fantastic.

36

u/Paper_Okami The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '21

Yup, the whole sequence is perfection.

Sometimes all you need is the help of half a dozen goofy teenagers.

33

u/totesmcgotes31 Feb 22 '21

After my younger cousin committed suicide this panel hurts so much. It is still my favorite scene in the series

11

u/Russian-_-spy Feb 22 '21

I’m sorry for your loss

7

u/Straw_hat_nakama Feb 22 '21

Same . My favourite as well

6

u/-Werewolff- Feb 22 '21

Gotta agree with what's been said. The context and build up to this moment is so powerful and heart wrenching. Legitimately made me tear up the first time I watched it. Good stuff :)

3

u/New-Historian-6483 Feb 22 '21

Totally agree here! Robin is so damn lovely. Since this moment, for me she came over Nami.

42

u/Jazer95 Feb 22 '21

He laughed

35

u/fsrocchi Feb 22 '21

I'm doing a reread and so many moments are amazing, I end up with many favourites hahahah.

But one that comes to mind now is in Jaya after Luffy punches Bellamy and his crewmate asks Luffy where will he go.

"Up."

5

u/StudJBagel Pirate Feb 22 '21

Yessss

35

u/SilverOwl87 Feb 22 '21

For me, when the original six held up their arms to show they still care about Vivi, that’s what will always stick out in my head as my favorite moment. Certainly not the flashiest or the most heart aching, but it just makes me feel warm and happy when I think about the bond that they all had

5

u/silfer_ Feb 22 '21

And still have!

22

u/clifbarczar Feb 22 '21

When Luffy is having a breakdown post Marineford about losing Ace and Jinbei asks him to move past what he lost and remember what he still has and Luffy remembers he still has his Nakama.

Honestly I was also depressed after Ace's death so seeing Luffy feel better also helped me feel better.

20

u/Inspiringer The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '21

One of my favorite moments in the anime was the beginning with Wano and Zoro supposed to commit seppuku

20

u/Mawnix Feb 22 '21

Luffy landing the first clean hit on Doflamingo.

I think it's mainly because Doflamingo is, by far, my favorite villain in anime and likewise One Piece.

There'd been so much mystery behind him, from who he actually was to his power level.

He was one of the only Shikibukai to come out of Marineford completely unscathed. He took down Moria with a bunch of Pacifista for some unknown reason. He went toe to toe with Aokiji, albeit for a moment. He took down Smoker.

Like the list goes on.

And to see Luffy finally land a decisive hit on him--the way his body bends over, careening at the hit and processing it, just meant a lot.

It felt like that was the moment we were starting to open the door into the true New World and how the Straw Hats were going to turn it on its head.

20

u/TaffyLacky Feb 22 '21

Raizo is safe

2

u/stuckontwice Feb 22 '21

my fav moment in one piece is when jimbe said these legendary lines to big mom "I'm the man who wants to be part of the future pirate king, i cant be intimidated by a mere emperor of the sea"

man has second most epic line in one piece. first being "nothing happend"

10

u/von-miller58 Feb 22 '21

the moment when Luffy reaches the top of Marineford and has the staredown with the 3 admirals. Everything about that sequence was amazing. The music, the feels, animation.

7

u/amaikaizoku Feb 22 '21

Pretty much every wholesome luffy moment. This manga has way too many amazing moments for me to pick one

judge listing off all the things he hated about sanji and luffy asking sanji why judge keeps listing all his good qualities (stuff like this is why i love luffy)

luffy saying lets go wreck that wedding when sanji finally broke down and confessed he wanted to go back to the sunny

luffy and sabo reunion

everything with corasan and law

luffy looking happy when otama's mentor (hitetsu) told him about ace and how he met tama (that was so endearing honestly, seeing luffy look all proud and happy of how his brother handled that situation)

spoilers - the laughtale moment

chapter 1000 spoilers - ace talking about luffys dream

luffy stopping doffy from stepping on law with his foot (that is probably one of my favorite scenes in one piece with how badass it made luffy look and the size difference)

luffy vs usopp

robin's i want to live

nami asking luffy to help her

chopper and hiluluk

luffy getting the last piece of dog food for chouchou back in orange town

luffy punching the tenryuubito

the crew getting separated

ace's death :'( and their entire backstory

luffy and zoro taking the beating at jaya and being completely chill later (while nami was angry all by herself XD)

There are so many more moments and I honestly can't pick a favorite out of all of these. One Piece is probably the only series where I can pick out so many impactful moments like this!

2

u/Zwodo Feb 23 '21

The Judge, Sanji and Luffy one made me smile thinking about it. Luffy is such an awesome character, those was so silly and wholesome

8

u/itsmat_ Feb 22 '21

Zoro : The two of us are the last remaining bastions against her.

Usopp imitating zoro's voice : Yes, those weak-minded fools have failed us all.

Luffy : Oi Usopp ?

Usopp : Eh ?

Luffy : CHOPPAAAA

8

u/thakidjr Feb 22 '21

idk man I’ve always enjoyed the memory of Rayleigh meeting Roger and in the anime I loved that scene

At the end of Dressrosa Arc, when Fujitora is giving Luffy some time to recover and escape, he seems kinda "on the fence" on whether he really likes Luffy or not. But, when all the people from Dressrosa deliberately get on Fujitora's way so he can't throw the rocks on Luffy and co., he finally understands. And he says something along the lines of "I regret blinding myself because now I can't look Monkey D. Luffy in the eye. I bet he has a gentle face".

This comes from a guy who previously on the arc said that in a way being blind was good because there are things in this world that he prefers not to see. Luffy had such a powerful impact on the old man's worldview that he made him question (for the first time in who knows how long) whether turning a blind eye towards humanity because of its evils is worth it. It's a wholesome, intimate, sympathetic, humane, touching moment of a man acknowledging another's goodness and returning it with goodness. I fucking love it.

8

u/PsychoPass1 Feb 22 '21

I'm probably forgetting dozens of other epic moments but Luffy vs. Lucci will always be one of my all-time favourites.

Also, Luffy punching the tenryuubito.

Also, Luffy winning against Crocodile on the third try.

5

u/Weeb9oo Feb 22 '21

mmmmm
mmmmmmmmm
definitely when luffy reunites with coby for the first time, just think it was funny lol

4

2

u/-BigHarry- Feb 22 '21

3

u/Informal_Chemist6054 Feb 22 '21

Can't choose

  1. The Robin "I want to live"
  2. Zoro crying after losing to Mihawk
  3. Nami asking for Luffy's help in Arlong Park
  4. Punching the Celestial Dragon
  5. Usopp vs Luffy
  6. Merry burning

3

u/RohanMusk Feb 22 '21

Luffy punching charloss, that moment differentiated him from other pirates. That moment I realised, Luffys freedom is much more bigger than what other pirates consider freedom to be.

3

u/LeadPrevenger Lurker Feb 22 '21

The 4Kids theme song hooked me in immediately...... then....

chapter 1 when the mountain bandit gets shot Luffy being immune to lighting vs Eneru / Enel Everything about kaido Setting sail to the new world (the in between island chapters are the best) Luffy vs Crocodile Luffy punching the celestial dragon in the auction house Zoro vs Mihawk

“I’m Dead” 😬⚡️🤡☠️ (Whoever saved Luffy had to have known he was a Rubber man) I loved watching the straw hats beat down Hoddy Jones but that could have been flashback for me

My emotional moments: Dorry and Broggy’s fight made me sick to my stomach. I was like 10 crying I’m my room LOL , BoOoON-Chan!! , hearing that Hancock and her sisters were branded

3

u/jimjim1987 Feb 22 '21

And then the strawhat pirates played "nuck if you buck" by crime mob and beat cp9 ass

3

u/JC7577 Feb 22 '21

Hope anime is ok~

When Luffy's haki clashed with Don Chinjao and Diamante says "that's what it takes to be a King". Music and the screen of them staring at each other gave me goosepumps.

Sauce: https://youtu.be/YgCBagdbB-w?t=41

3

u/robble237 Feb 22 '21

Fujitora wishing he hadn't blinded himself in order to see luffy's face. This easily made Fujitora my favorite character in the series.

3

u/I-C-Iron Feb 22 '21

Its monday morning and i couldn't agree less.

3

u/EmrikDicks Feb 22 '21

Cobys speech in Marineford and mr.2 saving everyone from Impel Down

2

u/AlBitten Feb 22 '21

This, all the scenes when strawhats get new bounties and „don’t leave anyone alive“ line by Luffy (might contain translation inaccuracies) when Usopp was beat by franky family

2

u/bouteil_deau Feb 22 '21

Each time I see this panel I get chills!!!

2

u/Maverick0Johnson Pirate Feb 22 '21

Every moment, op is just too good i stop watching/reading other manga/anime because they're not good as op.

2

u/silfer_ Feb 22 '21

such an underrated moment is Sengoku to Law “Don’t try to find a reason for someone’s love!!”

2

u/Hopeless992 Feb 22 '21

Nami asks Rufy to help her with Arlong and he puts the strawhat on her head

2

u/Lindbluete Feb 22 '21

By far my favourite moment or string of events in all of fiction is the argument between Luffy and Usopp about the Merry and the subsequent fight.
I hate the "heroes argue before climax" cliche in movies, because the argument never feels real to me. It's almost always entirely based on misunderstandings and miscommunication.
But not in One Piece. Both Luffy and Usopp have perfectly valid reasons to act the way they do. Luffy doesn't want to lose the Merry, but as the captain he decides that the safety of his crew is more important. Usopp sees himself in the Merry and her being discarded like that is just the nail in the coffin of his insecurities. It is masterful character writing and I rewatch those two episodes all the time.

2

u/ScaapeG Feb 22 '21

“When do you think people die? When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! It’s when… they are forgotten.”

Dr. Hiriluk

you can say this on every funreal

2

u/lensualxopthicc Feb 22 '21

Sanji: What happened here Zoro: Nothing, nothing at all

2

u/BrichenWildale Feb 22 '21

"One Piece exists!!"

2

u/ThugMan69 Feb 22 '21

Nothing happened really solidified one piece as a great show for me but when Ace said, "Thank you for loving me" it hit me so hard in the feels knowing what Ace has been through; making it number 1 for me

2

u/Babagian Feb 22 '21 edited Feb 22 '21

Luffy vs Bellamy "Do i know how to throw a punch ?" and when Luffy lost his nakama by Kuma

2

u/IcepickEvans Feb 22 '21

Oh shit I'm too late.

Vivi onetop of the clocktower. Pell sacrifices himself to carry away the bomb, and after it explodes, Vivi just breaks down and starts screaming futility at the fighting for everyone to stop.

Nami is so broken up she yells at the others to stop the fighting however they can.

It makes Crocodile's defeat being punched through the bedrock into the sky all the sweeter. Alabasta really is my favorite arc.

2

u/PeteTheRat Feb 22 '21

The fact that Pell doesn’t die ruins the moment

2

u/sylviandark Feb 22 '21

my favorite moment is when they spy on nami bathing

2

u/Shrekinator5006 Pirate Feb 22 '21

A few of my favorite moments are

  • Luffy's Jet Gatiling Finish

I LOVED this scene. It was built when Usopp appears during Enies Lobby and taunts Lucci in order to motivate Luffy. Then Luffy promises to never fall right before getting a internal bleeding from a Roukougan. Afterwards, you get to see Lucci piss himself as Luffy pulls himself back up and gives him the hardest glare in the world. A quick flash back to Robin admitting she wants to live and Luffy gives the most satisfying finish to any opponent to this day. To top it all off, he tells Robin that she was going back with them.

  • Luffy's First Red Hawk

I feel people sleep on this a lot as a I've never really seen anyone talk about this. (I'm referring to the canon version on Fishmen Island btw) It really shows the inherited will of Ace and it shows that Luffy has accepted Ace's death.

  • Usopp's Resolve and Nothing Happened

Everyone loves Zoro vs Kuma 'fight'. It ended with one of the most badass moments in all of One Piece. It also showed Zoro's resolve to make Luffy the Pirate King. In Alabasta, Usopp teamed up with Chopper against Mr. 4 and Ms. Merry Christmas. During the fight he had his face slammed in with a 4 ton bat. Ms. Merry Christmas told him Luffy had already been killed by Crocodile. Only to get back up and give one hell of a speech. I don't remember how it exactly goes but it went something like this. "There is a time when a man has to fight. And that time is when... His friend's dreams are laughed at!" A beautiful moment that very few people talk about.

  • Luffy vs Katakuri

Two specific moments. The first one Is everything leading up to the Conqueror's Haki with Katakuri showing his face and stabbing himself and the Conqueror's Haki clash itself. The next is the Snakeman fight and the ending moment with Luffy promising to return. Both a were amazing moments and solidified Luffy vs Katakuri as my favorite fight.

  • I want to Live and Please Help Me

Nami and Robin both have lived terrible lives and were haunted by their pasts. Then along comes of our favorite Straw Hat wearing rubber idiot to save them. These two moments both represent them finally freeing themselves from their mental prison and accepting help from others. Both are beautiful moments that make One Piece on of the best stories ever told.

2

u/sahithkiller Feb 22 '21

Shanks stopping the war, brook calling big mom a young Lady and their fight, and jinbe leaving her crew

2

u/papaboynosmurf Feb 22 '21

When Luffy walked past Kaido to check on Kinemon and the red scabbards. For some reason that one really hit me

2

u/Zeteon Feb 22 '21

u/Kumadori012 Feb 22 '21

Every breakdown asking for help, kinda hits the heart.

1

u/i_watch_some_anime Pirate Feb 22 '21

Sanji vs luffy really sad but my second would be for sure “I want to live “ would be my second option

1

u/jmoff9 Feb 22 '21

Aside from this beautiful moment from Robin, it’s when Luffy tells Jimbei to meet him in Wano and that he was his captain now. WCI is my 2nd fav arc behind Enies Lobby, and it’s because it’s full of amazing growth moments for Luffy. When I read him say that, I was like, “Oh shit, Luffy’s serious. Without Zoro here he’s gotta go full captain mode”. Plus I just love sending the ‘I’ll be waiting for you in the land of Wano’ meme to friends just getting into the series

1

u/Dash_TheMage Feb 22 '21

By favorite if you mean emotionally crushing, caused me to actually cry ugly tears, walk away from the chapter for a bit, and eventually lead to a tattoo for one of the panels: then easily chapter 590. I don’t cry often but Dadan turned on the flood gates.

1

u/Kirilli Feb 22 '21

I love when Luffy stops Doflamingo's foot from stomping on Law.

Another one is when Rayleigh saved Zoro and the crew from Kizaru.

Damn, another one was when Shanks ended the Marineford War.

1

u/-Tazer0 Feb 22 '21

For me it's Nami saying, "Luffy......taskete" (Arlong arc) Her story touched me the most, just as much as Robin going, "Nikitai...., take me with you"

1

u/JustSomeExtras Feb 22 '21

Definitely Enies Lobby Arc. I moved to tears when they save Robin. Also that episode have Sogeking. I miss Sogeking. Why did he go to another adventure on his own. Never get to see him again

1

u/AneeshRai7 Feb 22 '21

I love this moment a lot but because Arlong Park is my favourite arc it has to be Nami asking Luffy for help and he puts her hat on her, then the subsequent Seven Samurai/Yojimbo style walk of the crew towards the park...

1

u/AneeshRai7 Feb 22 '21

This is awesome... I'm remembering how many epic moments there are by reading all these...

1

u/mxfuuu Feb 22 '21

How are you guys able to pick your favorite moment? I cant even begin to think what to start with. There's just too many.

1

u/ItchyTomatillo7011 Feb 22 '21

Luffy punches celestial dragon, keeps hat on Nami and says where is arlong? , Luffy explaining chopper abt pirate flag , Luffy use conqueror haki on fishman island etc

1

u/fzrh184 Feb 22 '21

Luffy fights Jinbe after Ace's death and Jinbe defeated Luffy easily and said "Don't think about the one's you've lost, think about what you have now!" and after that Luffy start reminiscing about his separated crews and cries...

Man, this moment hits harder than Going Merry's funeral

1

u/TrentTheSlut Feb 22 '21

Going Merry :,(

1

u/Zobdefou Feb 22 '21

Sanji crying while Luffy says he will wait for him and Sanji finding out the truth about Pudding while lighting up his cig was incredible

Comedic moment is the Gangster Gastino introduction. I'm sorry Caesar clown is such a good comedic splice, except in punk hazard and dressrosa, he was good in zou and whole cake

1

u/awaythr17 Feb 22 '21

Hiruruk’s death.
Or Kiros’ cry at the end of dressrosa.

1

u/shikh5753 Feb 22 '21

Usopp burning world government flag.

1

u/Arganaught Feb 22 '21

Hard to pick a number one, but one that’s definitely up there for me is when Zoro asks Mihawk to train him. For him to throw away his pride in such a gigantic way highlighted his loyalty to Luffy more than any fight could have imo. Going to the one man who he’s dedicated his life to killing, and begging him for help for the sake of his captain.

1

u/PerfectlyClear Feb 22 '21

Roger’s laugh at the end of 967

Nekomamushi told Robin at the Road Porneglyph that everyone in the world, who is seeking for the lost century, will try to kidnap her. Robin respond fully relaxed: Thats no Problem, I have strong friends who protect me. Every time i see this scene i could almost cry, the Strawhats are simply the best 😭❤️

whatever happened in the last chapter

1

u/RidiculedReptile Feb 22 '21

Usopp motivating Luffy to beat Rob Lucci at Enies Lobby

1

u/Impractical_101 Feb 22 '21

Zoro's "Nothing Happened" moment

1

u/BPF11 Feb 22 '21

The walk to Arlong Park, The stare down at Enies Lobby, Zoro's sacrifice at Thriller Bark, And a more recent example would be the Luffy vs Katakuri using Haoshoku Haki

I would include Merry's funeral but it makes me cry every time I watch it

1

u/RRUchiha Feb 22 '21

SPOILER FOR ANIME FANS When Luffy punches ... And claims He will become the pirate king Can't wait for it to be animated.

1

u/Formal_Ad_7579 Feb 22 '21

Zoro sacrifice for luffy, Law when he beat hawkins, The straw hat crew storming to shiki, Jinbei hitting big mom, Katakuri hurting himself for a fair fight, Katakuri and luffy kings haki collab.

1

u/NewtRider Feb 22 '21

The moment they walked up to the edge of the tower just before this moment.

1

u/hdwil6fj Feb 22 '21

When they found out that Noland was telling the truth. The moment they found half of his house on Sky Island.

u/Original_Profile6231 Feb 22 '21

Zoro and Sanji washing dishes

1

u/q-_u_-p Feb 22 '21

I have a few and can't decide which one I like the most so this is my top 8 favourite moments (not cronical order)

  1. In arlong park when Luffy asked "So which one of you is arlong?"

  2. In skypiea when Luffy was singing.

  3. In thriller bark when Zoro took Luffy's damage

  4. When luffy became the 5th emperor of the sea

  5. When Luffy, Jimbei and Rayleight returned to marineford.

  6. After dressrosa when Luffy got 5600 subordinate,

  7. Strawhats reuniting after 2 years,

  8. Zoro testing a sword on his arm

1

u/JPLago2004 Feb 22 '21

Personally, it's the Wano kuni arc introduction. The visuals, Hiyori's shamisen solo, the opening curtains that make it look like a theatre play, it gives a chill down my spine every single time I watch that scene. I know it isn't as emotional or memorable as other moments like robin's "I want to live", but damn it does get me hyped

1

u/Aditya_0712 Feb 22 '21

Luffy punching a celestial dragon !!! I swear no video could satisfy me as much as that episode

1

u/sadlonely_weeb Pirate Feb 22 '21

Luffy facing Borsalino, Kuzan and Sakazuki with no doubt. I got so hyped;

1

u/Akato_Namikaze Feb 22 '21

Luffy using conquerers haki on Bullet

1

u/GridCloner Feb 22 '21

In chronological order (not preference):

  1. Zoro making his promise
  2. Nami asking for help
  3. Ringing the bell
  4. Robin wanting to live
  5. Zoro nothing happened
  6. Something that'll happen soon in the Oden flashback
  7. A Certain event from chapter 1000

Edit: if I have to name one it's going to be Robin's wanting to live moment.

1

u/Kata_Kuri36 Feb 22 '21

Cp9 standoff , Sogeking shooting down WG flag .

Still wanna know where that guy came from...

1

u/Silveryo69 Feb 22 '21

idk nothing happened in it

1

u/Cubix89 Feb 22 '21

There are so many to chose from. But the one you posted, just hits different. Definitely the best moment of alot of great moments.

1

u/Nimrod-The-Great Feb 22 '21

For me it's got to be the ringing of the bell of Shandora, 400 years of the Shandorans fighting just to let a long dead Noland (and his descendent once they hear about Cricket) know they never broke their promise to him.

1

u/Oreo-and-Fly Feb 22 '21

"WITHOUT YOU, I WONT... I CANT BE THE PIRATE KING! "

This is the one of the few times Luffy says what he can't do, and I think the first time he tells someone he CANT be the pirate king without them.

Plus the whole moment, Luffy THREATENS to starve in front of Sanji because Sanji promised to never let anyone starve.

1

u/The_Murl Feb 22 '21

In terms of emotional impact this is probably my favorite moment. I think it's because it's such a culmination of Robin's character and a complete paradigm shift for her - from being seen as a demon and regarded as evil to finally overcoming her past, allowing herself to be vulnerable enough to trust other people again and choosing a new path.

Personally for me that moment also became a mirror for myself and my path of healing from emotional trauma from the past. Watching her facing her past and choosing life instead of pain and suffering became a cathartic experience for myself.

1

u/oddtoddlr Feb 22 '21

Zoro’s nothing happend moment

1

u/Yank1llaz Feb 22 '21

Mine is a set piece: the whole escape from Impel Down with Buggy, Mr. 3, Luffy and Bon Clay.

1

u/tragicjohnson84 Feb 22 '21

"I wanna live" followed by Luffy telling Sogeking to burn down the World government flag is the best single chapter of One Piece that I ever read week to week.

1

u/MatthewR105 Feb 22 '21

When Luffy called the old mermaid lady, "monster granny." It was just so blunt and innocent at the same time.

1

u/DefinitelyNotKle0 Pirate Feb 22 '21

I can't really separate them so I'll rank my top 5:

  1. Zoro taking Luffy's pain / Zoro saying Luffy will be King Of Pirates

  2. Walk to Arlong Park

  3. Jinbe tells Big Mom he's joining Luffy because he wants to be a part of the future Pirate King's crew

  4. Katakuri asking Luffy to come back and beat Big Mom, also agreeing that Luffy is right about becoming Pirate King

  5. Zoro defeats Mr. 1 (cutting steel achievement) / Shanks saves Kid Luffy and uses Haki.

1

u/rbarge Feb 22 '21

Luffy hitting the bell/enel

1

u/Hooman_number2 Feb 22 '21

Death of white beard. (Because of how sad and epic it is)

1

u/Pattymayo93 Feb 22 '21

The introduction of Oden and Katakuri acknowledging Luffy are probably my favorite moments

1

u/King-Karma-88 Feb 22 '21

When luffy made fujitora regret blinding himself

1

u/MooMooSoshi Feb 22 '21

there are quite a few special ones but the one that takes the cake for me is luffy punching that tenryuubito. never in my life has seeing somone get beat felt so good

1

u/The_pirate_hunter69 Feb 22 '21

Nothing happened or scars on the back are a swordsman shame

1

u/StudJBagel Pirate Feb 22 '21

While others are certainly “better” as far as story-telling goes, my absolute favorite is Knock-Up stream. To me, it is the pinnacle of adventure.

1

u/LilChinkCappin Feb 22 '21

luffy using conquers haki in marine ford.

1

u/SMcGrill Feb 22 '21

Robin wanting to live is definitely the best. However my runner-up is Nami forgiving Jimbei. That was so heart-warming and emotional.

1

u/Woolas Feb 22 '21

Nothing happened or jinbes mere yonkou line

Luffy smashed the mirror traps Katakuri, Luffy frees Ace, Whitebeard hugs Squard, Luffy-Sanji whole cake island, Strawhats no hesitation fight Kuma over Luffy, Ussop’s apology, Ussop saves luffy in Dressrossa.

1

u/simplyoutstanding Feb 22 '21

I recently started the show and the 377th episode when Zoro comes through sand says “nothing happened”.....EPIC‼️

1

u/Gregor05 Feb 22 '21

Best emotional moment:

Tie between Nami's "Help me." and Luffy's "I still have my crew."

Best badass moment:

Luffy's final Gum Gum Jet Gatling against Lucci.

Best funny moment:

Tie between Brook laughing at Duval having the same face as Sanji and Franky telling Luffy that his master's brother will recoat Sunny, Luffy repeating that completely wrong and Franky just rolling with it.

1

u/BadActsForAGoodPrice Feb 22 '21

Let’s crash the wedding -> Luffy kicking Enel -> Sanji kicking Vergo

1

u/bean_man_man Feb 22 '21

Usopp vs luffy was amazing, besides that nothing happened and I want to live were greats too

1

u/SmRogue Feb 22 '21

Some great moments for me would be:

Usopp telling Luffy to beat Lucci so they can go back together

Blackbeard saying people's dream never end

Usopp yelling to the crew to jump into the ocean and the Going Merry coming to save them

Sanji thanking Enel for lighting his cigarette

Basically all the Strawhats saying the Luffy will definitely become the Pirate King

1

u/Army-of-Woodpeckers Feb 22 '21 edited Feb 22 '21

Any time Luffy gives one of his crew members permission to go all out. (Franky and Sanji)

Also any March to a battle grounds. (Walk to arlong park. Walk to Franky house. Walk to enies lobby. Walk to ors in thriller bark. Entrance on fishman island.) especially when the “overtaken” beat starts playing.

1

u/TakeItSleazy12 The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '21

I have a 3-Way Tie for my favorite moment:

Favorite serous moment is the silent farewell at Arabasta.

Favorite funny moments is when when Luffy pushed beck the first zombie he saw into the ground and when Robin helps Luffy rembers who Marco is by telling him he looks like a pineapple.

1

u/blaztted Bounty Hunter Feb 22 '21

Nothing happened.

I want to live.

Raizo is safe.

He laughed.

One Piece have the best one-liners.

1

u/InstantTaco Feb 22 '21

Haven't seen many people mention Whitebeard. Literally, every time he's on screen there's something incredible happening.

  1. Being betrayed by Squard and forgiving him
  2. One piece is real
  3. Died standing up
  4. The reveal of how many wounds he had endured in the battle of marineford and the fact he had 0 scars on his back
  5. Him telling Thatch that "It's not you. The man Roger is waiting for"

Basically every Whitebeard moment.

-The separation of the Strawhats at Sabaody

-Manga spoiler He laughed

Luffy telling Ace and Sabo how important they are to him in the flashback when he shares that he has no one else except them and that he was willing to be tortured if it meant not ratting out his brothers.
